About us…

Contacts began as a project for a group of schools based in and around The Meadows area, south of Nottingham city centre, in 2007. Counsellors in training provided counselling for children as part of their placement in their qualifying year.

In the years to follow, Contacts provided placements, which included clinical supervision and continual development training events, for approximately 200 trainee counsellors. This service gave access to counselling for over 1,000 children in primary secondary and special  schools until 2020, providing over 3,000 counselling days and over 30,000 counselling sessions.

Contacts counselling services delivered by qualified and experienced therapists became available within a few years of the initial project starting and continues to provide 16 counselling days per week across 9 schools delivering in the region of 3,000 counselling sessions per year.

In 2019/2020, Contacts introduced the Reflective Practice service for Head Teachers. This service has grown to provide Reflective Practice sessions for Deputy/Assistant Head Teachers, SENDCO, DSL’s, Student Support staff and Family Support staff. 2022/23 has seen 36 staff members from 32 schools, engage in regular Reflective Practice sessions

Services are delivered by practitioners with a wealth of experience and therapeutic backgrounds.
